Information about girls, women and autism

 

The information that is known about girls and women on the autism spectrum is growing all the time, but there are still huge gaps in research and understanding. SWAN are working hard to find out more about the experiences of autistic females in Scotland and what can be done to address their specific needs.

One of the ways we have done this is through running events with Autism Network Scotland, to create positive spaces for learning, and enable dialogues between autistic women, their families and supporters, and practitioners.

In this section is some of the information that has been gathered at the events we have run so far. It is based on the experiences of the people who attended the events and took part in the discussions there. For this reason, it is representative of their views only and can only reflect their experiences.
