In recognition of SWAN’s work, CEO Lyndsay Macadam was nominated by Scottish Government to attend the Royal Garden Party earlier this month.
The King, The Queen and Members of the Royal Family visit Scotland for Royal Week each July, visiting various regions in Scotland, meeting Scots from all walks of life and hosting the Royal Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Guests, who have made a significant contribution to Scottish life, are invited to spend the afternoon in the beautiful grounds of the Palace in recognition of their good work.
Lyndsay took their mum along as their guest, and has now gained brownie points for life as she got to shake The King’s hand and have a chat!
“It was a tremendous honour to be nominated to attend the Royal Garden Party and meet The King. As the only autistic-led Charity run by and for autistic women, girls and non-binary people in Scotland, this is an important recognition of the value and necessity of SWAN’s work”
- Lyndsay Macadam, SWAN CEO.
