After a busy year the SWAN Staff team are preparing to close the office on the 19th Dec for a winter break. Most of our social groups and activities will remain running over December. Please read for further information
If you are thinking about getting in touch with SWAN over the festive period please check when we are open.
The SWAN office will be closed from 5pm Friday 19th December until 9am Monday 5th January.
This means that our emails and social media groups and channels will not be monitored or responded to during this time. This to give our staff a much needed winter break after an incredibly busy year.
Winter time is celebrated in different ways by everyone, for some it might be filled with sledging, hot chocolate, blankets, movie nights or jigsaws. For others family time, religious or cultural festivities and traditions. We do however, know that winter time can also be hard time for many people. Changes in the season bringing darker nights and colder temperatures, differing demands and expectations on our time and social pressures can be isolating and exhausting.
For that reason many of our social groups are running over December - please check our calendar to find out if your local group or online group is going ahead and remember and check for notifications from Eventbrite or on social medica before the event for any cancellations due to weather/illness etc
We are also really pleased to share our Winter Holidays Resource packed full of ideas and further supports for the winter period. We also highly recommend Jade Farrington's A Community Guide to a Neurodivergent Christmas
However you spend the rest of December we hope that you are able to spend some of it (or all) doing the things that you enjoy and make you feel good over this winter period and we look forward to seeing you at our SWAN groups over December or when our office reopens in January.
